Overview
The consultancy invites all members of the residential aged care team to work toward implementing and embedding current recommendations for use of antipsychotic medication management for responsive behaviours.
The consultancy will also consist of a 1.5 hour online course that is recommended to all staff involved in medication management including medication competent care workers, registered nurses, enrolled nurses and others.
The online course summarises current evidence-based information regarding the introduction, management and withdrawal of antipsychotic medication use for responsive behaviour, when all other non-drug strategies have been unsuccessful.
It uses a case study and short film snippets to illustrate how aged care teams could use DTA resources to implement current recommendations for use of antipsychotic medications for responsive behaviours.
