Overview
In this workshop you will learn how to look, listen and investigate pain in people living with dementia who are unable to verbalise their discomfort or pain.
By completing this course, staff will be able to:
• Describe the mechanism of pain.
• Describe the issues relating to recognising pain in people living with dementia who are unable to verbalise their discomfort or pain.
• Understand what would lead you to think a person with dementia might be in pain.
• Know what information is needed to properly assess pain.
• Know why it is important to check the management plan is working.
