Workshop
Royal Freemasons Footscray – Responsive behaviour case studies

Dementia changes the way in which a person experiences everyday life. These experiences may be communicated by behavioural responses rather than the spoken word to express a need, an emotion, a reaction to illness or other social and physical environmental factors. The challenge for those who provide support is understanding the causes of the changed behaviour. This session will explore:
  • The types of behaviour commonly expressed in residential aged care setting
  • The behavioural characteristics and causes of two types of behaviour in detail: vocalisations and wandering
  • The CAUSEd model as a method to understand behaviour
  • Case studies on wandering and vocalisation
Duration: 1 hour Time: 1.30 pm - 2.30 pm Suitable for all staff Please contact Alice Wang to attend
