We are looking for a Senior Web Developer who is responsible for oversight, analysis, development and maintenance of business systems, applications and the technologies that underpin operational requirements.

 

You will develop and implement software solutions that enable DTA to deliver and report on web-based services that are both efficient and secure, as contracted under agreed business KPIs.

 

The position works with front and backend environments, updating WordPress websites, developing new sites from scratch, and working within existing web platforms.

 

A hands-on role involved in codesign, development, documentation and testing of DTA’s online systems, the Senior Developer manages task assignment and provides supervision and mentoring to junior developers and other members of staff within the IT portfolio.

Description

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Provide senior technical advice, task assignment and oversight, and programming support for information system architecture and function, including maintenance of complex data flows and developing server-side code to provide interfaces to application databases.
  2. Complete analysis of integrated solutions and contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of new and existing solutions.
  3. Monitor information systems functionality, take immediate steps to address critical performance issues, and action strategies to optimise overall performance, system efficiency, and security.
  4. Contribute high level technical advice and documentation in the development and refinement of DTA IT strategy and policy.
  5. Provide adoption support relevant to DTA information systems with preparation of easy-to-understand technical resources, policies and procedures and delivery of systems implementation training.
  6. Provide progress updates and activity reports for DTA managers and directors as required.
  7. Monitor and implement best practice web server security protocols and accessible web design standards.
  8. Act in accordance with workplace policies and work health and safety responsibilities.

Requirements

Selection Criteria:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Development environment with MySQL/PHP/HTML/CSS/JQuery/Javascript and Linux/server administration.
  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining web applications/web services technologies, including data storage, system monitoring, networking, and system administration.
  • Good working knowledge of Agile methodology.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects that drive business and IT strategy.
  • Degree and a combination of extensive relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver project requirements (e.g. health professionals, educators, government, and industry partners).
  • A high level of communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills.
