About this Module
This module has five sections:

Early intervention
- We explore anticipating and being proactive during planning and hear from our expert panel about deciding if and when to intervene.

Implementing person-centred care
- Fleshing out a person-centred approach.

Approaches to planning and implementing interventions
- Using an approach that keeps the person with dementia and what is happening for them central to your planning. What you need to consider when developing an intervention plan.

Non-pharmacological and pharmacological interventions
- In this section you will learn about interventions for changed behaviour, strategies for VDB, goal setting and realistic expectations.

Case study
- In part 2 of Mrs Horvat’s story we explore some planning activities based on her assessment data

Learning Outcomes
After completing this module, staff should be able to:
- Outline some key factors to consider when developing an intervention plan for a person with changed behaviour.
- Use the assessment data to guide the selection of interventions that meet the goals of care and achieve measurable outcomes.
- Differentiate ways to demonstrate a person-centred approach
Identify possible interventions to try in the VDB case study.
