Dementia Training Australia and Souths Cares have joined together to ensure every person living with dementia receives safe, evidence-based care, wherever they are.
Through this partnership, we will give carers, families, and community the knowledge, skills and confidence to support Indigenous communities with culture and tradition in mind.
Souths Cares: the Trusted Community Connection
As the social impact arm of the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Souths Cares delivers programs that foster education, training, health and employment, with a proud focus on supporting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People.
Souths Cares major programs include:
- Rabbitohs Wellbeing Program: Promotes mental health, physical health and wellbeing for primary and high school students – engaging over 30,000 students each year.
- Deadly Youth Mentoring Program: An intensive mentoring and casework program to support Aboriginal and/or Tores Strait Islander youth create positive futures and achieve their aspirations.
- Liverpool Opportunity Hub: Holistic and individualised mentoring for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander school students in Liverpool LGA – delivered in partnership with 25 schools.
- Nanga Mai Marri (Dream Big) Program: Holistic and individualised mentoring for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander high school students in South Eastern Sydney and the Inner City – delivered in partnership with nine high schools.
- Play Her Way: An all-girls training program for aspiring Rugby League players, providing guidance on nutrition, mental fitness, leadership, and goal-setting.
By partnering with DTA, Souths Cares ensures dementia education and training is relevant, respectful, and reaches those who need it most.

Community Workshop
Join us for a half-day workshop at the Rabbitohs USANA Centre. These practical sessions build understanding of dementia, including recognising early signs and learning how to better support people living with dementia in the community.
Participants will gain practical strategies and confidence to support individuals and families affected by dementia.

Game Day
Round 15 | 11 June. Accor Stadium, Sydney
DTA will be the official Match Day Partner for the South Sydney Rabbitohs’ Round 15 home game against the Brisbane Broncos. This event will highlight the importance of dementia education and training to all attendees.
