Allan's role at Dementia Training Australia
Dr Allan Shell (MB BS Grad Dip Public Health) is an Academic GP and Adjunct Senior Lecturer, in post-graduate Medicine, to UNSW Sydney and La Trobe University, and is a member of the GP Clinical Education group for DTA.
Since 2009, he has played a major role in developing innovative education workshops and seminars, both face-to-face and online modules, to increase GPs’ capacity and confidence to recognise, diagnose and better manage people living with dementia.
These workshops have been delivered around Australia, to generate better community awareness of dementia, through Primary Care and Allied Health services - particularly for families and carers of persons living with dementia. He has also co-authored evaluation of this work, and other GP based research projects, that has been published in high impact peer-reviewed journals.
