This module deepens understanding of how past and ongoing trauma, including loss of land, language, and family, affects the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living with dementia. It highlights protective cultural strengths, rights, and community-led ways of healing that promote dignity, autonomy, and belonging. Learners are encouraged to practise strengths-based, rights-focused, and trauma-aware care that restores connection and empowers both the person and their family.
