Overview

This workshop supports organisations to use the National Dementia Education and Training Standards Framework (NDETSF) to identify staff training needs in dementia and develop dementia training plans to build capability in the workforce. It also supports the identification of the dementia knowledge and skills needed for different job roles to provide quality person centred care.

This workshop will:

Outline the purpose of the NDETSF
Outline how the NDETSF can help achieve the Strengthened Quality Care Standards
Apply the NDETSF and Dementia Training Action plan (DTAp) tool to assess workforce dementia capability
Apply the NDETSF to develop dementia training plans
Apply the NDETSF to build capability frameworks for individual job roles and position descriptions
