Overview
This workshop is designed for enhanced practice learners and those in roles where they can positively influence care practices within their service.
Based on the train-the-trainer model, this session brings together key aged care training staff from various providers to:
- Deepen understanding of evidence-based approaches to changed behaviour in people living with dementia.
- Build knowledge of facilitating effective training sessions within their own organisations.
- Build confidence in using the Changed Behaviour (CB) Toolkit as a resource for training and practice
Be equipped to support ongoing learning and promote consistent, person-centred responses to changed behaviour across their teams.
Suitable for people working in:
Organisational training roles in Residential Aged Care, Community Care and Respite Care Settings.

What You'll Learn:
- The Brain and Dementia – Understand how dementia affects brain function and how these changes impact the person’s behaviour and communication.
- Changed Behaviour – Explore what changed behaviour is, why it occurs, and the underlying factors that may contribute to it
- Managing Changed Behaviour – Learn how to apply evidence-based approaches and tools so the team responds effectively, distress is reduced and the quality of life of the person living with dementia is enhanced.
- Using the Changed Behaviour Toolkit & facilitation skills – Gain confidence in facilitating short training sessions using the Changed Behaviour Toolkit in your workplace to support ongoing staff learning.
