Learning Outcomes
After completing this course, staff should be able to:
- Explain the importance of rehabilitation for people living with dementia, including its basis in human rights and its role in supporting function, participation, and wellbeing.
- Recognise the roles of various allied health professionals and be able to apply learnings to deliver dementia rehabilitation and support person-centred care.
- Reflect on and advocate for improved access to rehabilitation for people with dementia within their own workplace or service context.
Course Details
Continuing Professional Development
Completion of this course provides 10 hours of continuing professional development. A Certificate of Completion is awarded upon successful completion.
This course was originally developed through the National Centre for Healthy Ageing, a partnership between Monash University and Peninsula Health, in collaboration with the University of Tasmania and the Menzies Institute for Medical Research. The work has been supported by the Medical Research Future Fund and is now delivered in partnership with Dementia Training Australia (DTA).
