Responsive behaviours – An introduction
DTA currently uses different terms for behaviour. We will be progressively moving to the term Changed Behaviour in all our content.
This 15-minute video introduces responsive behaviours – why they occur and what we can do to help reduce or eliminate them.
The video is suitable for anyone working in a dementia care environment.

Learning Outcomes
This video aims to help learners:
- understand what we mean by ‘responsive behaviours’ in relation to dementia
- recognise potential causes of responsive behaviours, and
- identify strategies using the PIECESTM approach to help improve the wellbeing of people living with dementia.
