New dementia e-learning for night time carers
Dementia Training Australia has launched a free online training course for aged care staff who care for people with dementia overnight.
A flip card resource providing a succinct, on-the-spot point of reference for health professionals and care staff working with people with dementia to help in the management of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.
The set of 15 colour-coded flip cards address: 10 common BPSD and delirium; recommended assessments; and recommended frameworks. The cards are small enough to slip into a pocket. Two additional cards, designed to clip onto a lanyard, have checklists for: How well am I communicating?; Understanding the observed behaviour; and Getting to know the person living with dementia.
The Quick Reference Cards (lanyard cards and flip cards) may be printed without alteration for in-house use only.
