    • Introduces the assessment process, determining immediate or potential risk, and understanding an individual’s history and the care environment.
  • 2
    The assessment process
    • The 5 key elements of the assessment process: the history, the behaviour, understanding the person, the care giver and the care environment.
  • 3
    Case study: vocally disruptive behaviour
    • What is vocally disruptive behaviour (VDB) and introduction to a case study.

After completing this module, staff will be able to:

  • Outline the key areas and questions needed for a comprehensive behaviour assessment.
  • Explain the use and value of preferred assessment tools.
  • Outline the assessment process and questions you could use for the person in the case study, focusing particularly on their disruptive vocalisation behaviour.
